HILLSBORO, TX – A driver was killed after stopping their pickup truck in the middle of Interstate 35 in Hillsboro and being struck by a truck on Sunday night, KWTX reports.
According to authorities, the collision occurred near the 365-mile marker of I-35 around 11:36 pm.
Police received reports of a Dodge pickup driving erratically in the northbound lanes of I-35. The driver eventually came to a complete stop in the main travel lane with dim or no headlights. A truck crashed into pickup, causing it roll over and catch fire.
The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
