WARD CO., TX – Two people died in a collision involving a semi-truck on FM 1233 Sunday morning, First Alert 7 reports.
The fatal crash happened near mile marker 234 at about 6:50 a.m. on May 18.
Police say that the driver of an eastbound Toyota Tundra drifted across the center line, clipping the left rear axle of a westbound Freightliner semi. The Tundra then collided with a Ford F-250 that was traveling behind the semi.
Both pickups subsequently caught fire, killing the drivers inside.
Authorities identified the Tundra’s driver as Sergio Lujan Olivas, a 22-year-old resident of Monahans. 40-year-old Enrique Flores III of Crane was driving the Ford.
The semi’s driver was not hurt in the crash.
