BEAUMONT, TX – A woman died over the weekend after the dump truck she was driving overturned and caught fire, CBS 6 reports.
Bethany Murphy, 43, was heading north on Cardinal Drive at about 1 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle while in the 4700 block. The dump truck struck the median barrier, ricocheted across the travel lanes and into a second barrier on the right-hand side, and then rolled over. The wreck then caught fire.
Murphy died as a result of the collision.
It took crews until 7:30 that evening to reopen Cardinal Drive to traffic.
