REEVES CO., TX – One person died and another was injured in a collision involving a tow truck and a semi-truck that happened on I-20 on Saturday night.
First Alert 7 reports that a tow truck driver was headed westbound at 9 p.m. when he noticed smoke near the highway’s 26th mile marker. He swerved into the left lane as a precautionary measure, then overcorrected right, causing the tow truck to roll over and toss unspecified cargo into the travel lanes, where it hit a nearby semi truck.
Emergency responders rushed the tow truck’s driver to Odessa Regional Medical Center, where he died. Authorities have identified him as Anthonny Michael Zinn, 38, of Duncan, OK.
The semi truck’s driver suffered minor injuries.
